Top seeds Australia looked to be cruising – Day 3

The top four seeded nations all finished off their pool play with wins to go through to the knockout phase unbeaten. However both Australia and Japan had some tough matches. They will be joined by the nations seeded 5 to 8 for the quarterfinals.

Top seeds Australia looked to be cruising after Chen Li Tu won the opening singles against India. However India’s number one player Basil Khuma had other ideas, pushing Blake Mott all the way. Khuma won the first set 7-5 and made Mott play at the top of his game to take the second set and then comfortably claim the third to give Australia a 2-0 lead and top spot for the playoff draw.
